JOB DESCRIPTION Chemist (Job #4664) Location: Houston, TX area Position Summary: Our Client in East Houston is looking for a Chemist to perform analysis on fuels, petrochemical, diesel and oil products Essential Functions: Utilize a variety of instrumentation including but not limited to GC, GC/MS, UVF, physical property analyzers, etc Maintain clean and safe working environment Participate in all safety and quality control activities Accurately record all data from analysis Analyze results to determine if sample was in spec Immediately notify management for all out of spec results Perform general calibration and preventative maintenance on GC system Provide analytical support to production and sales departments Qualifications: BS Chemistry preferred for entry level candidates 2+ years relative experience for candidates with other degrees Previous experience with GC systems highly preferred Experience with ISO policies and procedures Skills and Abilities: Must be able to multi-task effectively Must have strong written and oral communication skills Must be able to follow written and oral instructions Basic Math and Computer (Word/Excel) Strong attention to details Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move 100 lbs Type of Assignment: Temp-hire Shift Schedule: Mon- Fri with some rotating on call responsbilities Salary: $20/hr + DOE please submit salary request with resume Due to the high-volume of applicants, only candidates who meet the requirements of the position will move through the interview process.
