Summer Day Camp Program - Camp Positions

The South Orange Dept. of Recreation & Cultural Affairs hires individuals to fill a variety of positions in the Summer Day Camp Program, including:Camp CounselorsActivity SpecialistsDivision HeadsCounselors-in-Training (volunteer position)The Summer Playground Program is a seven week day camp for children ages 4 through 13. Staff assists with the planning, organization and implementation of camp activities. They will supervise, monitor and participate in all activities, including swimming, field trips, arts and crafts, sports and games. While doing so, all are expected to serve as appropriate role models.Applicants must be available to attend pre-camp Counselor Training sessions and work the full 7-week camp season from June 22 through August 7. A typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM.
