Captain / Lead Server
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Lead Server to take ownership of the dining room floor. This role is responsible for maintaining service standards, supporting the team, and ensuring smooth, efficient operations during service. This is not just a serving position, this is a leadership role. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support the service team during all shifts Maintain full control of floor flow, pacing, and table turns Act as the primary point of contact between FOH and BOH Ensure all service standards and steps of service are consistently executed Assist with training and onboarding new servers Monitor section balance and adjust seating in coordination with the host Handle guest issues professionally and resolve problems in real time Step in wherever needed (running food, bussing, covering sections) Ensure compliance with all NYC DOH and sanitation standards Requirements: Minimum 2–3 years of serving experience in a high-volume restaurant Proven leadership ability on the floor Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to stay composed and decisive under pressure Deep understanding of restaurant operations and service flow Full availability (nights, weekends, holidays required) Must be reliable, accountable, and team-oriented Compensation: Base pay + tips (high earning potential) Opportunity for growth into management roles Expectations: The Lead Server sets the tone for the entire team.
