Through strong leadership and collaboration, the Director of Food for Thought plays a vital role in ensuring that children in our community have the nourishment they need to learn, grow, and thrive.Position Title: DirectorPosition Assignment: Food for Thought (FFT)Reports to: Executive DirectorPosition SummaryThe Director of Food for Thought provides leadership, strategy, and day-to-day oversight of one of Park View Community Mission’s six core programs. The primary goal of this role is to ensure that students experiencing food insecurity have consistent access to nutritious food when school meals are not available, primarily on weekends and during school breaks. This position requires a highly collaborative leader who thrives in a team environment and is committed to building strong relationships with Park View staff, school partners, and volunteers to effectively serve children and families in our community. This position is full-time, salary, non-exempt, and will have an office at FFT in the lower level of The Plaza. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership & OperationsOversee all aspects of the Food for Thought program, including planning, implementation, and evaluationEnsure the consistent and efficient distribution of weekend and holiday food bags to studentsMaintain high standards for food quality, safety, and dignity in service deliveryMonitor program outcomes and adjust strategies to meet growing community needsPartnership DevelopmentBuild and maintain strong relationships with school-appointed liaisons to coordinate student participation and program logisticsServe as the primary point of contact between Park View and participating schoolsCollaborate with community partners to enhance program reach and effectivenessTeam CollaborationWork closely with Park View leadership and program staff to align Food for Thought with the organization’s broader mission and goalsContribute to a positive, team-oriented culture across all departmentsSupport cross-program collaboration to better serve families holisticallyVolunteer EngagementRecruit, train, and lead volunteers to support packing and distribution effortsFoster a meaningful and organized volunteer experience that reflects Park View’s valuesEnsure volunteer activities are well-coordinated and impactfulInventory & Logistics ManagementOversee food sourcing, inventory tracking, and supply managementCoordinate packing schedules and distribution timelinesEnsure efficient use of resources and minimize wasteReporting & AccountabilityTrack and report key program metrics, including number of students served and meals distributedAssist with grant reporting and provide data to support funding requestsMaintain accurate records and documentationQualificationsPassion for Park View Community Mission’s mission and commitment to serving others with dignity and respectStrong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff, partners, and volunteersExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsExperience in program management, nonprofit work, education partnerships, or food distribution preferredAbility to think strategically while also managing day-to-day operationsProficiency in basic data tracking and reportingFull time availabilityDriver’s LicenseFour year degree in social work, education, or related field
