Lead MuleSoft Anypoint Integration API Engineer - REMOTE - Contract to PermWe’re working with a growing organization that is looking for a Lead Integration API Engineer to design, build, and evolve enterprise-grade APIs and integration solutions.This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who understands modern API architecture, knows how to build scalable REST APIs, and has experience working with enterprise API management platforms.What You’ll Do:Design, develop, and support enterprise REST APIs and integration servicesLead API architecture, standards, patterns, and best practicesDevelop Java-based REST APIs and integration servicesWork with enterprise API management platforms and API gatewaysPartner with application, cloud, data, and architecture teams to deliver integration solutionsEstablish standards around API security, scalability, performance, monitoring, and lifecycle managementTroubleshoot complex integration and API issuesProvide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineersHelp drive the organization toward modern, scalable integration architectureWhat We’re Looking For:Strong hands-on experience developing Java-based REST APIsExperience with an Enterprise API Management platform, such as:MuleSoft Anypoint PlatformGoogle Cloud ApigeeAmazon API GatewaySimilar enterprise API management technologiesStrong understanding of REST, API design, authentication/authorization, and API securityExperience with cloud-based application and integration architecturesSolid understanding of microservices and distributed systemsExperience with CI/CD, source control, and modern software engineering practicesAbility to operate at both the architectural and hands-on development levelsStrong communication skills and the ability to work across technical teamsNice to Have:Experience with AWS, GCP, or bothMuleSoft, Apigee, or AWS API Gateway certificationsExperience with event-driven architecture, messaging, or asynchronous integrationsExperience with API observability, governance, and lifecycle managementExperience leading API modernization or enterprise integration initiativesIf you’re an experienced API/Integration Engineer who enjoys solving complex integration challenges and wants to have a meaningful impact on enterprise architecture, we’d like to hear from you.
