Maintenance Mechanic
Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic (Packing Facility)
Role Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of specialized fruit packing equipment (e.g., sorters, sizers, baggers, and conveyors) to ensure maximum operational uptime and food safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Electrical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical issues (24V–480V), including motors, contactors, and relays.
Control Systems Support: Perform basic PLC troubleshooting (e.g., tracking faults, checking I/O status) and monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS).
Preventive Maintenance (PM): Execute scheduled PM plans to minimize equipment breakdowns and extend machinery lifespan.
Operational Readiness: Conduct equipment setup and changeovers for different apple varieties or packaging formats.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, OSHA standards, and food safety regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational certification in industrial maintenance or electrical preferred.
Experience: 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and reading schematics.
Control Systems: Basic understanding of PLC I/O, sensors, and motor controls.
Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long shifts, and work in moderate temperature extremes.

Fast-paced food production facility.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
