Business Development Manager – Aerospace & Defense (Electric Propulsion)Salary: Up to $140,000 base + bonusLocation: Camarillo, CA | Relocation assistance availableTravel: Domestic & international as neededA confidential, fast‑growing aerospace manufacturer is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth within the aerospace and defense sector, with a strong emphasis on electric propulsion, power systems, and electromechanical technologies.This role is ideal for a technically savvy business development professional who excels at building OEM and Tier 1 supplier relationships and translating complex engineering solutions into winning customer engagements.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and defense contractorsBuild and maintain strategic relationships across the aerospace and defense ecosystemPartner closely with engineering teams to align customer requirements with technical solutionsLead customer engagements including proposals, bid strategies, contract negotiations, and pricing discussionsAnalyze market trends, competitors, and growth opportunities in the electric propulsion and power systems spaceRepresent the organization at customer meetings, industry events, and global aerospace/defense exhibitionsTrack and report performance against KPIs and revenue growth targetsSupport additional initiatives assigned by senior leadershipQualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field2+ years of business development experience in aerospace and/or defenseStrong understanding of propulsion systems, electric motors, generators, or power electronics (aerospace applications strongly preferred)Proven experience working with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or defense contractorsExcellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder‑management skillsComfortable operating in a cross‑functional, engineering‑driven environmentProficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelAdditional RequirementsMust be authorized to work in the U.S.This role involves ITAR‑controlled information; U.S. Person status or eligibility for export authorization is requiredWhy This OpportunityCompetitive compensation: Up to $140K base + bonusRelocation assistance availableHigh‑visibility role with direct influence on growth strategyExposure to cutting‑edge electric propulsion and aerospace innovationCollaborative, engineering‑focused culture
