Linux Platform Engineer

Job Title: Linux Engineer Location: Chandler, AZ Duration: 12+ MonthsRate: $67-$70/hour W2 Industry: Financial Services / Enterprise TechnologyPosition Overview We are seeking a Linux Engineer with strong automation and cloud experience to support enterprise infrastructure environments. This role focuses on building and maintaining Linux-based systems, automating configuration management, and developing cloud-ready images using modern infrastructure tooling. The ideal candidate will have deep Linux administration expertise, strong scripting skills, and experience supporting large-scale enterprise or financial services environments. Must-Have Skills5+ years of Linux engineering / administration experienceStrong Ansible experience for configuration management and system automationExperience creating golden images using PackerCloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Strong shell scripting skills (Bash or similar)Python scripting / development for automation and toolingExperience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environmentsBackground in financial services or other highly regulated industries preferredKey ResponsibilitiesBuild, maintain, and support Linux infrastructure in enterprise and cloud environments.Develop and manage golden machine images using Packer for cloud deployments.Automate system configuration, patching, and deployments using Ansible.Write and maintain shell and Python scripts to streamline infrastructure operations.Support Linux lifecycle management including installation, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.Work closely with engineering and cloud teams to ensure consistent, automated infrastructure builds.Maintain system reliability, performance, and security across large-scale environments.Participate in infrastructure automation and cloud migration initiatives.Document automation workflows, system builds, and operational procedures.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in financial services or other enterprise environmentsFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines supporting infrastructure automationExperience with infrastructure-as-code and immutable infrastructure conceptsExposure to monitoring and observability tools within enterprise infrastructure environments   About Matlen Silver Experience Matters.
