Our client is a Class 1, IAS-accredited Special Inspection firm operating in accordance with 1 RCNY 101-06 and Chapter 17 of the NYC Building Code with a sister MEP design firm under the same umbrella, that structure is unique in the inspection industry and gives this team something most standalone inspection firms cannot offer: real-time access to design intent, drawings, and engineering judgment from the people who do the design work. This is a hands-on field role focused on mechanical systems, sprinkler and standpipe systems, fire-resistant penetrations and joints, chimneys and vents, heating systems, and related MEP and architectural inspection categories across active New York City construction projects.WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT• Accountable teams, real ownership. Small, tight-knit shop where your work is visible, your judgment matters, and you are not lost in a layer of middle management.• Design-and-construction integration. You will not be guessing at intent or chasing answers from a disconnected design team.• Class 1 IAS accreditation. Work on the full range of NYC project types, from major buildings to complex MEP fit-outs, not just small jobs.• Mission-driven culture. The firm was founded to fix the broken NYC sign-off process by bringing accountability, common sense, and clear communication to inspections. That philosophy is real, not marketing copy.• Sustainability and community focus• Career runway. Growing platform with room to deepen technical specialization, take on commissioning work, or move into a senior or supervisory inspection role over time.ROLE OVERVIEWAs a Special Inspector, you will be responsible for performing third-party verification that materials and construction processes on assigned NYC projects conform to approved construction documents, the NYC Construction Codes, and applicable referenced standards.
