Technical Trainer - Semiconductor (open to relo)

Technical Trainer (this is not an IT based training/softs skills training. we are looking for manufacturing and semiconductor engineering industry)Location - Phoenix, AZ (open to relocation)About the RoleThis is a direct hire role which sits within the client’s Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) and focuses on delivering technical training to field service engineers (FSEs) and customer technicians supporting semiconductor equipment.You’ll be responsible for teaching hands-on, electro-mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance concepts on complex capital equipment. This is not a traditional instructional design role—success depends on strong technical depth combined with the ability to present and engage small technical audiences (6–8 learners).What You’ll DoDeliver instructor-led training (ILT) to internal engineers and customers on semiconductor equipment (Etch or Deposition platforms) Lead hands-on equipment training, classroom sessions, and virtual modules using performance-based training standards (PBET)Translate engineering documentation into clear, structured lesson plans and training materialsPartner with engineering, manufacturing, and technical support teams to ensure training reflects current product updatesValidate course content with training development teams and ensure field applicabilityFacilitate interactive sessions, including troubleshooting scenarios and real-world application exercisesTravel for training delivery and certification (approx. 30% after ramp)Who You AreHands-on technical background in electro-mechanical systems (manufacturing, maintenance, military, or semiconductor required)Hands on Experience working with tools, equipment, and troubleshooting processesComfortable teaching or presenting technical content to small groups - audience being FSE, Technicians, etcStrong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex conceptsAble to handle interactive, high-pressure technical discussions during trainingIdeal Backgrounds - Even though it’s a “trainer” role, the expectation is: “You should be someone who could have been (or still could be) a Field Service Engineer, but now you’re teaching othersField Service Engineer (FSE)Maintenance Technician / Manufacturing TechnicianMilitary technical roles (highly preferred)Equipment operators or technicians with troubleshooting experienceBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience OR Master’s degree + 3 years of experienceEquivalent hands-on experience in the semiconductor industry or similar capabilities (strongly considered, especially military background)Training & Onboarding StructureInitial training conducted in Fremont, CA or Tualatin, OR (extended stays required)Ongoing travel between Phoenix and training sites during the first year.You would need to relocate to Phoenix, AZ max by June of 2027 (or earlier-relo assistance provided)Final qualification includes live instruction and technical presentation evaluationCandidates will complete a technical presentation (electro-mechanical topic) during the interview processRelocation & TravelFull relocation support available (lump sum or package)Flexibility on relocation timing to Phoenix (you have to relocate to Phoenix by June 2027)Travel to training sites (CA/OR) required during ramp-up period
