Creative Director

Overview Most brands get seen. Very few get remembered. That gap is the whole reason Colormatics exists. We make brands memorable by making them part of culture, and we do it in the moments that matter most: launches, repositions, new markets, fresh chapters. We are looking for a Creative Director to dream up the ideas that make it happen. You are the one who finds the Memory Hook, sets the bar for everything we ship, and quietly makes the whole team better every time you touch a project. If you love brave, culturally sharp work that you can actually point to results for, you are going to like it here. How we think about the work We partner with brands right when things are changing, usually when they need to be known for something they do not quite own yet, up against bigger names, on leaner budgets and tighter timelines. So the idea has to earn attention, not buy it. We are culture-led, which means we build around real talent, original characters, and the moments people are already paying attention to, because that is what makes a brand stick. And we are one team that both thinks and makes, so nobody hands the idea off and watches it get watered down. If you light up over a great concept and the numbers that prove it landed, you will feel at home. The Memory Hook is the job Everything we do runs through one simple question: what is the one thing someone will remember tomorrow? Every creative call you make gets held up against it. A character, a line, a ritual, a sound: the single cue that becomes inseparable from the brand and gets remembered, repeated, and passed around. Your job is to find that hook on every project, protect it all the way through production, and gently but firmly say no to the forgettable version. What you'll own The creative vision on your projects, start to finish, from first pitch through final delivery, across video, social, branded content, and integrated campaigns. Finding the Memory Hook. You take a client's business problem in a moment of change and turn it into one sharp, culture-led idea worth remembering. Selling that idea in the room, owning client presentations, and keeping the heart of it intact through every round of notes. Leading a Tiger Team of senior producers, directors, editors, writers, and designers in real time, no handoffs, giving feedback that makes the work braver rather than safer. Making the Think and Make model work for you: shaping the idea and the execution together, so the budget, the timeline, and the idea all stay protected. Setting the quality bar on scripts, animatics, boards, edits, and final cuts, and holding it even when the clock is tight and the brief is still taking shape. Running creative on set and in post when a project needs it, with the instinct to know when to protect the idea and when to roll with it. Casting for culture: spotting the talent, personalities, and moments that make an audience actually remember, not just scroll past. Helping win new business with concepts and pitches that make brands want to pick us. What you bring A portfolio of smart, culture-led video and content that made people feel something, got into the conversation, and moved the client's business. This matters more than anything else on the list. 7+ years in creative, ideally at an agency or production shop, with a real track record leading teams and juggling more than one project at a time. A good nose for culture. You know what talent, trends, and moments people are actually watching, and how to make a brand part of that. The ease to own a room, whether it is full of clients or full of creatives, and explain an idea so clearly that everyone wants to go build it. Real fluency in the language of production: treatments, animatics, boards, shot lists, edit workflows, and post. A sharp sense for how content performs across TV, CTV, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and paid social, not just how it looks. The steadiness to stay strategic when things are ambiguous, do a lot with a lean budget, hit deadlines that do not move, and lead without needing much oversight. A solid handle on the modern toolkit (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, the rest of the Creative Suite) and an openness to an AI-assisted pipeline that speeds things up without cutting corners on craft. Bonus points You have directed on set or led your own shoots. You have worked with challenger brands, product and brand launches, or new market entries. You come from a brand strategy or performance marketing background. You are dangerous in motion design, animation, or 3D. You have a little black book of talent, freelancers, and vendors you trust when a project needs to scale. Why you'll want this You get real ownership of the work and the trust to make it great, without five layers of approvals sitting between you and a good idea. You will work on a small senior team that both thinks and makes, next to people who have been through the challenger launches, the immovable deadlines, and the crowded categories, for clients who genuinely care about creative. The work is varied, the pace is real, and the wins are the kind people actually remember. We back our people with the resources, the room, and the support to do the best work of their careers, and we mean it.
