Our new, fear free hospital is nestled in a rural farm setting but is also close to major concerts and theatres, outdoor recreation, sporting events and amusement parks. Hospital expansion and major renovation was completed in July 2019 making it one of the newest and best equipped in the state. We encourage open discussion between all doctors and staff for the benefit of our patients. New ideas and procedures are encouraged, as we continue to expand the services we can provide. Big Valley Animal Hospital has been serving central Pennsylvania for over 30 years and has become one of the most highly respected practices in our area. 2019 marked the completion of a fear free hospital addition, and complete remodeling of our existing facility, making it one the most modern and best equipped private practices in the state. We continue to expand our client base by providing outstanding veterinary care in a welcoming and caring environment. We are a family-owned practice that insists on treating everyone with respect and compassion. We are happy to mentor those with less experience, and offer a low-key, fun work environment where new ideas and open discussion are encouraged. Our new hospital is fully equipped with in-house lab, heated surgery tables, L.E.D. surgical and exam lights, patient monitors including CO2, Phillips ultrasound (includes Doppler), dental suite, digital dental and full body radiographs capabilities, electrocautery, ICU unit, Isolation Ward, large staff lounge, and a large support staff. We have the tools and support staff to provide the practitioner with the ability to perform excellent case workups and patient care. Our practice provides the practitioner with a large and varied caseload of medical and surgical patients. We refer very few patients and are always eager to provide new treatment options as they become available. Doctors work a five-day work week (Mon-Fri). Our last scheduled appointment is at 4:00 p.m., and we have no evening office hours, providing the entire staff plenty of family time. Emergencies are handled by an emergency hospital in the area. We are located in an area of the state that provides for plenty of outdoor recreation, concerts, amusement parks, sporting events and other forms of activity. A good attitude and work ethic are a must. Interest in orthopedic surgery and further expansion of that portion of the practice is also an asset. NOTES: Telecommuting is allowed.
