Our Cable Splicer (CS) positions are based out of Atlanta, Augusta and Savannah. All candidates must be available to work within a certain distance of their assigned operating headquarters (upon hire). No relocation assistance is available.Job ResponsibilitiesThe CS will be responsible for all cable related construction and maintenance for the underground network and other high reliability distribution across the state of Georgia. You will receive training on the construction and maintenance activities associated with our Network & Hi-rely Distribution systems including operating procedures for all equipment involved in the process, including cranes, lifts, aerial devices, and cable pulling equipment. The applicant will be required to work on our system in enclosed spaces such as manholes, vaults & tunnels where entry requires access by ladders plus the ability to work at heights in lifts, buckets, scaffolds, etc. Safety is the most important component in everything we do while providing a quality product in an efficient manner.The CS will be required to have knowledge and demonstrate skills in the installation, splicing and terminating of various electrical cables that include, but not limited to, 3-phase Paper Insulated Lead Covered Cable (PILC), Cross Linked Polyethylene Cable (XLP), Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR), etc. The selected candidates will have to qualify during a pre-employment Cable Splicer Evaluation and Knowledge Assessment prior to consideration for employment.Pre-Employment TasksThe pre-employment testing will include, but not limited to, the following and will require up to 2 days of evaluations at the Network Underground Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
