We are seeking an individual who will exhibit the Core Values of Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools: Faith, Unity, Excellence and Integrity and create an environment of trust.Location/Schedule:Monday through Friday, 3:00p-6:00pSt. Mary Elementary SchoolResponsibilities:Promote the mission of Bishop O'Gorman Catholic SchoolsProvide and maintain a safe environment for childrenComplete the weekly snack orderPlan, organize, and order supplies for engaging activitiesManage and organize daily activities for children ages 3-12Prepare sign in/out sheets and manage student schedules and pickup changesCoordinate staff scheduling to ensure ratios set by the Department of Social Services are metProvide staff with list of students and supplies that are neededMaintain employee training recordsAttend BASC Coordinator meetings to review operations, policies, plans, concerns, etc.Report concerns to Principal immediatelyComplete the required trainingMaintain relationships and effective communication with parentsMaintain privacy and confidentiality at all timesFoster positive relationships and teamwork among staff and students by maintaining good rapport and managing conflictsFollow Department of Social Service licensing guidelines and maintain required documentation/paperwork for easy access if needed by the state or central officeSuccessfully prepare and complete inspections with the Department of Social ServicesFacilitate emergency drills and educate staff and students on proper proceduresProvide childcare coverage if staffing is not adequatePerform various duties as assignedQualifications:Essential Qualifications:Willingness and ability to effectively make known the Catholic Church's teachings through the varied ministry activities expected of this position.Willingness and ability to act as an outstanding personal witness to the Catholic faith and religion by living both one's professional and personal life in accordance with the doctrines and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, as embodied in the various documents of the Roman Catholic Church, including, without limitation, the Catechism of the Roman Catholic ChurchCoordinator must meet one of the following requirements per SD DSS licensing rules:Have a bachelor's degree in a field of education or human developmentHave a two-year degree in early childhood educationHave a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential, as determined by the departmentHold certification in a specific child learning philosophy and have at least one year of experience in a child care settingHave a child development technician diplomaHave four years of experience in a center or school age programExhibit the core values of Bishop O'Gorman Catholic Schools: Faith, Unity, Excellence, and IntegritySelf-starterHigh EnergyStrong interpersonal skillsExperience: Previous child care experience preferredSpecial Skills: Strong interpersonal skill beneficial.
