Position SummaryThe Forklift Operator will be responsible for directing the movement of materials and supplies for order completion and inventory control in their assigned area. The ideal candidate will have experience operating multiple pieces of material handling equipment such as swing reaches, cherry pickers, forklifts, and pallet jacks.Shift: 2nd: 4:30pm-1am PSTEssential Functions And ResponsibilitiesVerify and confirm counts of received goods and raw material from transfer trucks and containers, then put away on a timely mannerMatch packing slips with purchase orders and receive them into the computerComplete daily equipment checklists (MHE, RF, etc.) before operationLoad and unload trailers at the docks as assignedProperly tag/label received goodsPick orders that will be assigned to order pickers, palletize, and wrap accordingly then stage to a loading area as instructedEnsure correct placement of pallets for outbound loadingProcess daily assignments accurately and timelyEnsure that all equipment is returned at the end of the shift to the designated area and placed on charge if neededMeet and maintain production and quality standardsSweep floors and maintain a tidy work areaHelp to unload containers at times might be requiredAdhere to all company work rulesAdhere to all safety rules and practicesMaintain a positive work environment by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and managementOther duties as assigned such as unloading containers or working in other departmentsRequirementsOne to three years experience operating reach trucks, cherry pickers, and swing reach trucksGood computer skillsMust be able to read and speak in EnglishGood work ethic and planning skillsAble to follow directions and communicate with othersMust be able to perform basic math functionsLifts items up to 45 lbs.Physically and mentally able to work required shiftAbility to judge distances, and detect moving and stationary objects when transporting items in order to adhere with safety requirementsRecognize product types and safety/warning material (some small in size)Identify color-coded safety & warning areas/notices (most commonly colored yellow and red and some in small print) in order to maintain a safe work environment
