Roofing Mechanic

Job Summary We are seeking motivated and skilled Roofing Mechanics to join our roofing team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on commercial and residential buildings. Your expertise will help ensure the durability, safety, and quality of roofing projects while adhering to safety standards and project specifications. Duties Install, repair, and maintain various roofing systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. Read and interpret construction drawings to accurately execute roofing projects. Perform heavy lifting of materials such as shingles, metal panels, insulation, and other roofing components. Use construction estimating skills to assess project needs and determine material quantities. Apply caulking, flashing, and sealing techniques to ensure waterproofing integrity across different roofing types. Conduct surface preparation including framing, metal stud framing, masonry work, or concrete forming as needed for roofing installations. Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Collaborate with team members on remodeling or restoration projects involving roofing systems. Read schematics and technical instructions related to roofing systems and related trades such as plumbing or carpentry. Experience Proven experience working on construction sites with a focus on roofing projects. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and safety equipment used in roofing applications. Knowledge of technical drawings specific to roofing systems. Familiarity with various construction trades including carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry), masonry (stucco), metal stud framing, plumbing, is highly desirable. Prior experience in project planning is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks performed.
