Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to serve in a correctional healthcare setting. This vital role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to incarcerated individuals, ensuring their health and safety while adhering to strict security protocols. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, including experience with acute and chronic care, and demonstrate excellent assessment skills. As an RN Correctional, you will play a crucial role in maintaining health standards within the correctional facility, supporting patient well-being through evidence-based practices and compassionate care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management. Perform wound suturing, catheterization, and sterile procedures following aseptic techniques. Manage acute pain episodes and provide emergency interventions when necessary. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor patients for infectious diseases, manage isolation protocols, and ensure infection control standards are maintained. Document all patient interactions meticulously within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth. Experience Valid RN license with current state licensure required. Minimum of two years of nursing experience in acute care settings such as hospital medicine, Med/Surge, Skills: Professional Knowledge and Skills Isolation Precautions/PPE Wound Care/Wound Vac Work Settings Med/Surg Respiratory Nasal CannulaNon-invasive airway managementOxygen administrationOxygen tanks IV therapy/Phlebotomy Peripheral Line Care/Management Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Use of Rapid Response/Code teams Additional Skills Computerized documentation Correctional Experience #INDRNs Pay: $2,500.00 - $2,650.00 per week Work Location: In person
