Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities.Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of mission hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.As the Software Architect, responsibilities include: Establish and manage architectural tenets, principles, patterns, and best-practices used to guide design and development activity closure against system CONOP and requirementsDefine and manage the generation and maintenance of critical architectural and system artifacts and high-level system decompositionWork with design and development teams to ensure alignment with aboveLead development teams to define and prioritize architectural spikes and trades as needed to reduce development riskWork across SE, development, and test teams to define, monitor, and manage architectural feature developmentWork with performance and test teams where needed to develop and maintain models that reflect the current and objective system architectureWork with design and development teams to identify and address architectural weaknesses/defects if/when detectedBasic QualificationsExperience with software architectureExperience working in an agile team environmentExperience as a Software Architect or Associate Chief ArchitectPrevious experience with the Horizon, Compass, and/or Astrolabe product linesActive TS/SCI security clearanceDesired SkillsExperience working in Synthetic Aperture Radar domainExperience with performance modelingExperience in transitioning a demonstration mission into an operational systemExperience in estimating development effort for Basis of Estimates (BOEs)Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $166900.00 - $309900.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
