Quantum Computing Research EngineerWe are seeking a highly motivated Quantum Computing Research Engineer to research, develop, and implement quantum computing algorithms and applications. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore quantum technologies, optimize quantum circuits, and contribute to the development of next-generation quantum solutions for real-world problems.Key Responsibilities:Research and develop quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, machine learning, and cryptography.Design, implement, and optimize quantum circuits using leading quantum computing frameworks.Develop hybrid quantum-classical algorithms and evaluate their performance.Conduct experiments on quantum simulators and quantum hardware.Collaborate with researchers, software engineers, and data scientists to translate research into practical solutions.Analyze quantum hardware limitations, noise models, and error mitigation techniques.Develop prototypes, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and research publications where applicable.Stay current with advancements in quantum computing, quantum information science, and emerging technologies.Document research findings, technical designs, and experimental results.Present technical concepts and research outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.Required Skills & Qualifications:Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Quantum Computing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor's degree with relevant experience may also be considered).2–6 years of research or industry experience in quantum computing or quantum information science.Strong understanding of quantum mechanics, linear algebra, probability, and quantum information theory.Proficiency in Python and experience with quantum programming frameworks such as Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, or Braket.Experience designing and optimizing quantum circuits and algorithms.Familiarity with quantum error correction, error mitigation, and quantum hardware architectures.Knowledge of classical algorithms, data structures, and software engineering best practices.Experience with Linux, Git, and scientific computing libraries.Preferred Qualifications:Publications in quantum computing, quantum algorithms, or related research areas.Experience working with IBM Quantum, Google Quantum AI, IonQ, Quantinuum, Rigetti, or other quantum computing with high-performance computing (HPC), cloud computing, and distributed systems.Experience with AI/ML applications in quantum computing is an advantage.Preferred Skills:Strong analytical and mathematical problem-solving abilities.Excellent research, experimentation, and documentation skills.Effective communication and presentation skills.Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary research teams.Curiosity, innovation, and a passion for advancing quantum computing technologies.Ability to translate cutting-edge research into practical applications.
