The Associate Director, Editorial and Executive Communications, supports the development and execution of high-impact communications that shape the voice of the organization. This role is responsible for developing clear, consistent, and compelling messaging that translates organizational priorities into sharp narratives, persuasive content, and actionable talking points. Reporting to the Senior Director, Editorial and Executive Communications, this role partners across teams to support executive communications and contribute to an editorial function that ensures alignment, clarity, and consistency across the enterprise. The position also plays a key role in integrating artificial intelligence to enhance content development, scalability, and efficiency.ResponsibilitiesExecutive CommunicationsSupport the development of communications for the organization and its leaders, including speeches, talking points, presentations, and high-visibility materialsDraft and refine executive content that reflects a consistent, authentic voice aligned with organizational prioritiesHelp prepare materials for public appearances, board engagements, and key stakeholder interactionsTranslate complex issues into clear, compelling narratives tailored to diverse audiencesEditorial & Core MessagingDevelop core messaging, narratives, and content used across the organizationCreate and maintain messaging frameworks, including talking points, FAQs, and narrative platformsEnsure consistency of tone, clarity, and positioning across materials and channelsContribute to content that supports campaigns, initiatives, and strategic prioritiesContent Development & ExecutionProduce high-quality written content for internal and external audiences, including editorial platforms, leadership communications, and field-facing materialsAnticipate messaging needs and proactively develop content to support emerging issues and opportunitiesApply strong editorial judgment to ensure accuracy, clarity, and effectivenessAI-Enabled Content DevelopmentLeverage artificial intelligence tools to enhance writing, editing, research, and content development workflowsDevelop prompts, templates, and repeatable processes that improve efficiency and consistencySupport the integration of AI into editorial workflows to expand capacity and scalabilityStay current on emerging tools and best practices to continuously improve outputCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with marketing, earned and social media, internal communications, policy, and field teams to ensure message consistency and claritySupport integrated planning and execution across campaigns and initiativesProvide stakeholders with clear, ready-to-use messaging and contentQualifications6–8+ years of experience in communications, with experience in executive communications, speechwriting, or content strategyExceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas for broad audiencesExperience developing messaging frameworks, narratives, and editorial contentDemonstrated ability to write for senior leaders or high-visibility communicationsStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to travel up to 10%Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesExperience using artificial intelligence tools to support writing, editing, or researchAbility to develop prompts, templates, and workflows that improve content developmentInterest in applying emerging technologies to communications and storytellingStrong storytelling and narrative development skillsSound judgment and attention to detailAbility to balance strategy with executionCollaboration and influence across functionsAbility to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed organizationCommitment to clarity, consistency, and qualityTitle: Associate Director, Editorial and Executive CommunicationsPosition Location: US based RemoteFull time Position Grade & Compensation: Grade 508 The Alzheimer's Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is between $80,000 – $95,000Reports To: Senior Director, Editorial and Executive CommunicationsWho We AreThe Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
