Focused on local and regional priorities, we are reinvesting the expertise, energy, and resources of the agency to amplify the benefit of our constituents.Accounting SpecialistJoin the Team at EdAdvanceEdAdvance is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to support the agency's centralized accounting operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position plays an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting billing and reconciliation processes, and ensuring timely processing of receivables and grant-related transactions.What You'll DoIn this role, you will:Record daily deposits and payments received, including miscellaneous cash, invoice payments, and customer EFT transactions .Manage external and internal invoicing processesReconcile third-party credit card revenue and research discrepanciesMaintain customer and charge code information within the accounting systemPrepare journal entries and assist with account reconciliationsFollow up on outstanding receivables and support collection effortsReconcile A/R Aging reports and monthly payroll bank statementsPrepare and submit assigned federal and state cash drawdownsMaintain documentation related to drawdown activity and reimbursementsServe as backup support for Accounts Payable functionsCollaborate with department staff to support accurate financial reportingPerform other related duties as assignedRegular and reliable attendance is considered an essential function of this position.What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is:Detail-oriented, organized, and accurateAble to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectivelyComfortable working independently and collaboratively within a teamSkilled at identifying discrepancies and resolving issuesProfessional in handling confidential and sensitive financial informationCommitted to integrity, accountability, and high-quality workRequirementsQualified candidates should have:High school diploma or equivalent requiredTwo to five years of bookkeeping or accounting experienceKnowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processesStrong analytical and mathematical skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordExperience with computerized accounting software (Munis preferred)Familiarity with State and Federal drawdown portals is a plusWhy Join Us?At EdAdvance, you'll be part of a collaborative organization dedicated to supporting students, educators, and communities throughout the region.
