Data Platform Analyst

Overview In this Data Platform Analyst role, you will advance GMO’s enterprise reference data platforms and security master data. You’ll partner with Operations and Investment teams to implement scalable workflows, automation, and data quality improvements. As a NeoXam DataHub SME, you’ll guide data validation, migrations, and cross-system integration. The position offers hybrid work in Boston, with a mix of on-site and remote collaboration, and exposure to AI-enabled data operations. (clarify) ResponsibilitiesDevelop deep understanding of GMO’s reference data flow across internal databases and vendor apps (BlackRock Aladdin, NeoXam DataHub, Eagle PACE)Serve as the NeoXam DataHub SME: validate portfolio master data, resolve production issues, ensure scalable downstream integrationIdentify recurring issues and data quality risks; translate findings into requirements for workflow, control, automation, and data quality improvementsAnalyze data with Python, SQL, and Excel to propose data quality enhancements across platformsSupport governance and transformation activities for portfolio, security master, and reference data, including data model review and controlsAutomate or improve processes and procedures (e.g., control reports, daily checklists)Create requirements for onboarding new datasets; collaborate with developers to test and implement data processing/storageExplore AI tools to enhance reference data operations, quality controls, and monitoringParticipate in evolving data maintenance from manual to automated definitions, quality SLAs, and downstream consumption patternsCollaborate with data engineering and business stakeholders to modernize data quality rules with contextual validation Key requirements10+ years of investment industry experience with reference or research dataStrong expertise in portfolio/security master data structures and lifecycle eventsHands-on experience with NeoXam DataHub (mandatory)Strong data analysis skills in Python and SQL; able to handle large datasetsProven experience leading or supporting security master platform conversions/migrationsKnowledge of AI tools and interest in applying them to business needsHigh energy, conscientious, self-directed with strong work ethicFlexibility to be on call for on-night rotationsIntellectual curiosity about investment dataAttention to detail with emphasis on data quality and controlStrong analytical, organizational, project management, and written communication skillsFamiliarity with BlackRock AladdinFamiliarity with Bloomberg, LSEG, ICEhigh energyconscientiousnessself-directionNeoXam DataHub (mandatory)PythonSQL
