Data Architect

Overview In this role you will define the logical blueprint for a new commercial data platform, owning data models, governance, and master data strategy. You will collaborate with the Data Engineer and Platform Engineer to ensure traceability from source to published outputs. You’ll establish a robust data lineage, taxonomy, and governance framework across multi-product environments in finance. Compensation / Benefitsprofessional accreditations supportflexible arrangementsgenerous holidays + birthday day offcontinuous mentoringemployee assistance programemployee share plan ResponsibilitiesDesign end-to-end logical data model and document full data lineage from source to client-facing outputsOwn the canonical schema for data products, manage versioning and schema evolution across product linesImplement metadata management and lineage tracking to audit benchmarks, indices, and reportsDefine logical integration design for multiple sources (administration data, regulatory filings, client uploads) including entity matching and hierarchy managementEstablish governance standards: naming conventions, data dictionaries, documentation, and classification rules; support governance and anonymisation committeesCollaborate with the Quantitative Director, Data Engineer, and Platform Engineer to align analytical requirements with delivery capabilities Key requirements8+ years in data architecture, data modelling, or master data management, preferably in financial servicesDeep expertise in logical and physical data modelling: dimensional modelling, Data Vault, graph-based approachesStrong understanding of master data management, entity resolution, and taxonomy governanceExperience with metadata management and lineage tools (Alation, Collibra, DataHub, or equivalent)Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred)Experience designing data models for multi-product environments with a single source feeding multiple outputsUnderstanding of data governance frameworks, change control, and classification systemsExperience in financial data (loan portfolios, credit instruments, or fund structures)collaboration with cross-functional teamsattention to detail and strong communicationproblem-solving and analytical thinkingSQLPythonAlation
