Lift Truck Operator I-Utility (6p-6a)Operate gasoline or electric-powered industrial trucks or tractors equipped with forklift and/or elevated platform to move materials. Duties are performed under general supervision following standard work procedures and guidelines.
Operates a fork lift or squeeze truck
Operates drive gasoline- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas
Operates lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material
Moves pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas
Dumps, sprays, or releases materials into hoppers
Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment
Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, or lifting devices
Operates or tends automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines
Weighs materials or products and records weight and other production data as required
Records quality and output measures and completes any other necessary paperwork
Performing a pre-shift daily inspection on the lift truck
Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
Perform other tasks assigned by management
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Lift Truck Certification preferred. Successful completion of all required on the job training. Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training. Prior experience in a warehouse or as a general laborer preferred.
Operate in a team-based environment
Basic math skills
May require bending, squatting, climbing, and other physical movement for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Working around moving equipment and in an industrial environment. Working in an environment where there may be regular exposure to chemicals, noise from machinery, dust, fumes, and variable temperatures.
