Custom Chemical Applicator
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Apply liquid and dry fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to crops.
Equipment Management: Operate, calibrate, and maintain sprayer/spreader/drone machinery, GPS systems, and tender trucks.
Chemical Handling: Safely mix and load products while interpreting chemical labels.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely daily logs of applications for regulatory compliance.
Customer Service: Communicate with clients regarding product application and field conditions.
Facility Safety: Maintain facility cleanliness and assist with inventory management.
Qualifications
Certification: Valid state-issued pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain).
License: Valid driver’s license
Education: High school diploma or GED; agricultural education is a plus.
Experience: Experience with agricultural equipment, Drones, GPS technology, and agronomy is preferred.
Work Environment
Frequently works outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Long hours, including weekends, are common during peak spring/fall seasons.
Exposure to agricultural chemicals, fumes, and loud machinery.
Key Skills
Strong technical knowledge of chemical labels and safety protocols.
Proficiency in mathematics for calculating field acreage and product amounts.
