Job SummaryThe Business Development Manager will have a comprehensive understanding of customer management and program elements including sales, profitability, competitive landscape, market conditions as well as a segment understanding of necessary tools and elements. They will establish and implement programs that position the company as a leader in the tile and natural stone category for the builder segment. They will also have the responsibility for driving sales, growing margin, and increasing company profitability through concession management of the builder segment.Key ResponsibilitiesPartners with national sales staff to develop profitable selling strategies, customer agreements and concession managementProvides direction on product mix, pricing, and promotions to national sales force Perform and react to on-going in-depth analysis of sales, sales agreements, and promotion performance data Proactively identifies changing business trends, and proposes strategies for improvement including market as well as competitor trendsManages key projects and critical Company initiatives Improves bottom line expense performance on key areas for the company concession spends including rebates, freight out, claims, marketing, etc.Understands and anticipates customer needs Supports the sales team proactively with on-going training, development, and field presenceCollaborates with Training and Sales Leadership teams to develop proper training materials and ensure field proficiencyFacilitates inter-department, internal and external communications, including meeting schedules and eventsEnsures compliance to process and policiesResponsible for pricingQualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience)10+ years progressive experience in sales, business development and marketing leadership functionBachelors Degree in business, marketing or related field is required; Advanced Degree (i.e., MBA or Masters) strongly preferred.A prior history with budgeting and P&L managementA proven record of building, leading, and managing a large scale, multifaceted sales programA proven track record of business development, customer management and promotion A history of working with national sales team on programs and initiativesAn ability to execute key initiatives through detailed planning, communication, collaborationPolished presentation skills, excellent written and oral communication skillsExceptional analytical, time management, organizational and planning skillsA competitive drive: The ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentDirect reportsNo direct reports.OtherRegular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.Pay Range (USD)Base $80,000 - $150,000This position has an additional variable compensation component and all-in ranges estimated at:All-In $150,000 - $250,000About EmserThe Emser Tradition of Excellence Comes From its People...Since its establishment in 1968, Emser Tile has become the leading supplier of the world's finest tile and natural stone.
