Survey Technician
Our Public Works, Structures & Survey group is looking for a Survey Technician to join our team based in Duluth, Minn. In this role, you’ll be responsible for performing field surveys, working as part of a survey crew, and supporting the high level of quality services LHB prides itself on. If you’re ready to make an impact in the surveying industry, we want to hear from you.Position SummaryThe responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:Utility locates & 4-way sweepsAssist LHB’s Survey Crew Chief with day-to-day field activities including gathering, processing and verification of survey data, carrying equipment and tools, and construction stakingSafely operate company vehicles, tools, and survey equipmentHelp maintain accurate records for documentation purposesWhen needed, work in all weather conditions, near high-volume traffic, stand or walk for long periods of timeMinimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or GEDAbility to perform moderate lifting (50 lbs.), standing, and walking for extended periodsStrong work ethic, dependable, and motivatedMust be willing to travel 80% or more (Midwest) Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of teamValid driver’s license and clean driving recordA revoked, suspended, or canceled driver’s license within the last five (5) years or three (3) serious traffic violations within the last three (3) years may disqualify a candidateUpon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulationsPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience working as a survey tech or an Associates Degree in Land Surveying, Engineering Technology, or a related field.Previous experience with 4-way sweep processOSHA 30-Hour CertificationExperience using Trimble equipmentExperience with ArcGIS and CAD softwareSalary RangeThis position’s anticipated rate of pay is $23.50 – $29 per hour. (This position is eligible for year-end bonuses and for overtime pay at a rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a given workweek.)
