Assistant Corporate Controller

The Finance team of Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis (MD&A) is looking for an Assistant Corporate Controller in our Latham, NY, location. We are seeking candidates who have a desire to join a growing organization. The Assistant Corporate Controller will play a hands-on role in the Company's accounting and financial reporting processes, supporting the Corporate Controller. This position is responsible for key accounting activities, supporting audits and tax work, strengthening internal controls, and helping guide and develop team members. Financial Reporting and Close: Support the financial close process; review journal entries and reconciliations; prepare GAAP financial statements; and analyze and investigate variances. Accounting Oversight & Internal Controls: Support day to day accounting activities and assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures. Audit & Tax Support: Serve as a key contact for external auditors and assist with tax information requests and other compliance needs, as required. Process Improvement & Systems: Streamline accounting processes, support system enhancements and implementations, and help develop standardized procedures and process documentation. Team Leadership & Collaboration: Support and mentor accounting staff by assigning work, reviewing results, and providing guidance Additional Responsibilities: Take on additional accounting-related tasks and projects as needed RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting a plus CPA license and/or master's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience with Epicor / Kinetic ERP is helpful but not required Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Salary Description$100,000 - $130,000
