Direct Support Professional

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity. Monitor and observe patients’ health status, including vital signs and overall well-being, while maintaining detailed documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration and care plan implementation under supervision to ensure safety and adherence to prescribed treatments. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning and cooking to meet individual dietary needs.. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols in accordance with health standards. Engage clients in social activities and therapeutic programs to foster community involvement and emotional well-being. Follow all safety procedures including CPR and first aid protocols to respond effectively during emergencies or incidents. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is essential. Certifications such as CPR, first aid, HIPAA compliance training, or nursing assistant credentials are advantageous. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, is desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely . Strong communication skills coupled with patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support others’ well-being.
