Registered Nurse

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse in the PACU will provide care to patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics recovering from general anesthesia, with a focus on infants, toddlers, and adolescents. The role involves managing patients with ventilators, arterial lines, and various drips, as well as recovering PICU patients with co-morbidities. The position requires experience in critical care, including ventilator management, arterial lines, and titrating drips.Location:Santa Barbara, California, United StatesResponsibilities:- Provide post-anesthesia care to patients of all ages, including neonates, infants, toddlers, adolescents, and adults.- Manage patients with ventilators, arterial lines, and various drips, titrating medications as ordered by the physician.- Recover PICU patients with co-morbidities following procedures.- Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and administer medications.- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.- Respond to emergency situations and provide necessary interventions.- Document patient care accurately and completely in the electronic medical record.- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.- Participate in unit meetings and continuing education activities.Required Skills & Certifications:- Active Registered Nurse license.- ACLS and PALS certifications.- Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU.- One year of ICU experience or 2 years of ED experience with proficiency in ventilator management, arterial lines, and drips.- Experience with telemetry and critical care.- Experience recovering infants, toddlers, and adolescents from general anesthesia.Preferred Skills & Certifications:- Conscious Sedation experience.- Level 1 Trauma experience.Special Considerations:- High cost of living area.- Must be able to start on 3/9 or 3/23.- Every third weekend coverage required.- Call is required, including night call and day call shifts.- COVID-19 vaccination required.- All RTO must be on initial submittal, limited to 3-4 days.Scheduling:- 3x12-hour evening shifts (9:00 PM - 9:30 AM/12:00 AM - 12:30 PM) per week.- Night call: Approximately 40 night call hours in a 6-week schedule, RN can schedule at their discretion night call hours M-F 2400-0730 and Sat/Sun 1900-0730.
