Reports To: Homeowner or General ContractorJob SummaryWe are seeking a currently and properly licensed Master or Journeyman Plumber to act as the official Permit Holder of Record for specific plumbing projects on a per-project, flat-fee basis. The primary responsibility of this role is to navigate the municipal permit process, submit necessary documentation, pay associated fees, and ensure the permit is issued by the local authority. The permit puller will assume full legal liability for the project's compliance with all state and local plumbing codes and must coordinate all required inspections.
Key Responsibilities
Permit Application: Prepare and submit complete plumbing permit applications to the relevant city or county building department.
Code Compliance: Review project plans and specifications to ensure they meet all applicable state plumbing laws and local building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
Documentation: Gather and verify all required documentation, including blueprints, site plans, and owner/contractor affidavits, before submission.
Liaison: Act as the main point of contact and liaison between the client/homeowner and government agencies/plan reviewers throughout the permit process.
Problem Resolution: Address any issues or corrections required by the plan review department to facilitate timely permit approval.
Fee Management: Calculate and collect required permit fees (to be covered by the client as an expense) and submit them with the application.
Inspection Coordination: Schedule all necessary inspections at various stages of the project (e.g., rough-in, final) and ensure the work passes inspection.
Liability: Assume full legal responsibility for the permitted work as the licensed permit holder of record.
Qualifications & Requirements
Active License: Must possess a current, active [Texas, or relevant state] Master or Journeyman Plumber license.
Code Knowledge: In-depth, expert knowledge of local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
Experience: Proven experience in navigating the local building permit process in the specified jurisdiction.
Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with city officials, contractors, and homeowners.
Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage documentation and tracking efficiently.
Independent Judgment: Ability to exercise independent judgment in ensuring compliance with codes and resolving routine issues.
Transportation: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to visit municipal offices and job sites if necessary.
*Company will pay for permit related fees and registration of Contractor.
Compensation
Flat fee per issued permit. (Specific fee to be negotiated based on project scope and location complexities).

Pay: $250.00 - $500.00 per day
