Software Engineer II

Overview As a Software Engineer II on the Data Engineering & Governance team, you will build and secure large-scale data systems powering Microsoft’s Global eCommerce and Web initiatives. You’ll work with Azure and Fabric to design, implement, and maintain backend solutions while upholding privacy and security standards. You’ll collaborate across teams to meet stakeholder needs and guide others through implementation. ResponsibilitiesDetermine user requirements with stakeholders for feature setsIncorporate feedback to improve designs or fixesDevelop extensible, maintainable code and determine when it’s ready for deliveryReview others' code to ensure quality and scalabilityContribute to security, privacy, safety, and accessibility processesAssess onboarding of new technologies for compliance and security implicationsAct as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for on-call monitoring and incident responseCommunicate status to stakeholders and restore services within SLAEmbody Microsoft culture and values Key requirementsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years of engineering experience with coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experienceAbility to meet Microsoft cloud security screening requirements (Microsoft Cloud Background Check)Collaborative mindsetStrong communication and stakeholder managementAdaptability and learning mindsetProficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonExperience with cloud deployments and monitoringExperience with Azure services (Azure Service, Entra ID authentication, App Services, Functions, Event Hubs, Stream Analytics)
