SUPERVISORY NAVIGATOR (INSTRUCTOR)
Top Secret Position in Cheyenne, WYThis position is located in the Navigation Branch of the 153d OSS. This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as chief of the function and as such, is responsible for all navigational support provided by the squadron.
Key requirements:
Open to current active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard members.
Must submit vMPF Rip, DVR, or CDB with resume
Must become a military member of the Wyoming Air Nat'l Guard before appt.
Conditions of employment:
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses.
Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives.
Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).
Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized.
PCS is not authorized in lieu of incentives.
Relocation expenses will not be paid by the Government.
Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).
Conditions of employment:
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
Work will require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate Top Secret or Secret security clearance.
May require incumbent to perform Functional Check Flights to determine airworthiness of Aircraft.
The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Qualifications for this position require the Navigator/CSO to have graduated from USAF or USN Undergraduate Flying Training.
Incumbents are required to maintain the same medical standards as USAF military navigators/Combat system Operators.
Minimum requirements:
Must possess experience which provided a working knowledge of the navigation systems and navigational instruments of the assigned airframe.
Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training that required obtaining information on type of mission, weather, and intelligence data, and special instructions; experience preparing navigation flight plans; experience that provided a knowledge of proper readings and operations of navigational systems.
Validated ability to test and inspect the operation of compasses, navigation systems, or radio and radar equipment; experience utilizing various navigational methods and aids to accomplish flying missions.
Experience computing the effect of various factors during flight to establish present course and project balance of course and ability to train, evaluate and certify proficiency and competency of lower graded personnel.
Validated completion of the necessary hours required for applicants' current airframe.
Specialized experience:
Must possess experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) and possess certification as a qualified Navigator Instructor.
