If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, this Summer, we’re looking to add a Process Engineering Intern located in our Memphis, TN site.Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the student will assist with daily engineering tasks while learning, collaborating and working alongside Engineers and cross-functional teams.What a typical day looks like:Time studies, work sampling and throughput analysis across warehouse functions.Map current-state processes (SIPOC, value stream maps, swim lanes) and identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for labor optimizationSupport takt time calculations, balancing and labor modelingAssist in layout redesigning for receiving, picking, packing & shipping and in developing and implementing lean initiatives (5S, standard work, visualmanagement)Support continuous improvement workshops and Gemba walksCreate SOPs, on-point lessons, and job aidsDevelop spaghetti diagrams to reduce travel distanceEvaluate storage configurations, carton flow, and slotting strategiesSupport audits for safety, quality, and complianceAnalyze mis‑picks, labeling issues, and packing errorsRecommend corrective and preventive actionsSupport end‑to‑end CI projects including scoping, data collection, pilot, and rolloutTrack project impact and present findings to leadershipPull and analyze data from WMS SystemsBuild dashboards in Excel or Power BI for productivity, accuracy, cycle times, and KPIsConduct root-cause analysis using Pareto charts and 5 WhysStudent qualities we’re seeking for this internship assignment:Currently enrolled student pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or related field (undergrads only)Strong skills in Excel and analyticsAbility to work on the warehouse floor for extended periodsHighly collaborative, creative and excellent communication skillsPrevious internship experience a plus!Internship Program Requirements:Available to work 40 hours/week (in-person) for 10-12 week Summer assignmentCurrently enrolled in 4-year accredited university3.0 minimum GPA-SiteFlex is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
