Infrastructure & Military Housing - Originator

Position SummaryParticipate in all aspects of the deal process, and concurrently work on multiple assignments. Serve as a team lead on a wide range of infrastructure and military housing debt and equity transactions, to include new debt originations (first lien, mezzanine loans, B-notes, and preferred equity); acquisition of legacy loans and other forms of public and private debt; structured solutions including synthetic risk transfers and platform investments; restructurings; and recapitalization. This role is based in our New York City office full-time.ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:• Independently cultivate and maintain relationships with capital sources, counterparties, and sponsors so as to source new transactions, sources of capital, and secondary market opportunities• Conduct market research and data analysis to identify new opportunities and support development of products and credit standards• Develop materials for internal and client understanding of transactions, market conditions and opportunities, as well as new prospect marketing materials• Responsible for the development, negotiation and execution of investment transactions. Conduct underwriting, due diligence, deal structuring, and deal execution, including the negotiation of term sheets and finance terms• Develop and present written analyses, modeling, documentation and presentation materials in support of investment opportunities• Collaborate with Portfolio Mangers to ensure prompt and accurate transaction surveillance throughout the lifecycle of an originated product• Identify, plan, and execute transaction exits to include sale, refinancing, restructuring and liquidation of specified securities in order to realize returns and mitigate risk on existing positions• Review and respond to requests related to settlement and other issue resolutions• Develop a deep understanding of Guggenheim Investments investment strategies and clients including investment guidelines, regulatory capital considerations, regulators, and Guggenheim's internal policies and proceduresQualificationsPreferred Qualifications:Pursuit of CFA if not already achievedStrong project management and organizational skills, capable of prioritizing and managing diverse workloads under tight deadlinesExpertise in driving standardization and optimization of processes and deliverablesAbility to lead in a fast-paced environment, steering strategic projects that support growth and competitive positioningExperience in developing, implementing and optimizing business processes in the real estate investments funds spaceStrong and strategic relationship management skills and experience overseeing client relationships from an operating perspectiveProblem solver, positive attitude, be curious as to how processes can be improvedStrong negotiation and influencing skills Basic Qualifications: BA/BS degree or equivalent7+ years related experience in real estate investment management, including 5+ years of real estate fundraising experienceDetailed knowledge of Municipal sector, market operations, challenges and opportunitiesExcellent communication skills, both oral and written, and excellent presentation skillsThe highest ethical values in professional and personal conductProficiency in Bloomberg, Aladdin, Python, and Microsoft OfficeWe are not seeking agency assistance for this roleWe are unable to consider candidates who require current or future visa sponsorship for employment in the United States.
