Utility Worker 22hr+

Utility Worker ($22-24+/hr.)The Utility Worker plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes by supporting operators and maintaining order in the workspace. You will be cross-trained on Machine Operating and Material Handling - Forklift & Overhead Crane. We offer weekly pay with overtime paying time and a half. Must be open to shift with union environment. Employees will receive a $2.00/hr. increase after 4 months. Responsibilities Facilitate setup activities as requested by operators. Assist operators in pulling heaters after stoppages. Return pieces back on the line at line loaders. Empty trash containers in designated areas. Assist crane operators in hooking up and clearing pit jams. Guide completed first ends from take-away conveyor to the rack. Organize and stack wood safely in the steel buildings. Maintain all bins and floors free of loose wood and debris. Operate the pallet conveyor to position full skids without halting production. Monitor for heat changes and inform operators to prevent mixing. Verify pallets have a Green accept tag before loading into the coater. Identify unsuitable material conditions and inform operators. Run sonic reject pieces during downtime and at job completion. Perform other duties as assigned. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is within a unionized, heavy industrial forging environment that is not temperature controlled. Candidates must be open to working any shift, as shift assignments are determined by union regulations. Shift hours are 1st: 6:30am - 2:30pm, 2nd: 2:30pm - 10:30pm, and 3rd: 10:30pm - 6:30am, with additional pay for off shifts. Overtime is applicable after 8 hours of work.
