Sr. Embedded Software Engineer - Digital Signal Processing

Overview In this role you will lead software development for Abbott's FreeStyle Libre platform, focusing on signal processing and embedded data workflows. You will work within a cross-functional team to deliver FDA-compliant software across domains and ensure robust verification and validation. You’ll implement efficient data processing algorithms in C/C++ and shape embedded software architecture. ResponsibilitiesLead design and development of software across domains (mobile, web, desktop, embedded) under a disciplined product development process with FDA alignmentDesign, code, validate software and support verification/validation testing to meet design specifications and coding standards for medical devicesImplement data processing algorithms in C/C++ and define data management/data flow in embedded environmentsFoster productive internal/external working relationships Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in a technical field; 5+ years of software development experience (Master’s degree can reflect 7+ years)Strong knowledge of embedded software system design and algorithm development for embedded/other computing platformsProficiency in C, C++, structured software development and/or Object Modeling Design, digital data processing, debugger/ICEExcellent written and verbal communication skillsFamiliarity with development tools (IDEs, debuggers, unit test frameworks)Strong math aptitudeexcellent written and verbal communicationteam collaborationproblem-solvingC, C++embedded software designdata processing
