Shuttle & Transport Driver

Duty DriverJoin our team in "Doing the Most Good" as a Duty Driver at our Adult Rehabilitation Center. We're seeking a responsible and courteous driver to transport beneficiaries and employees while representing The Salvation Army with professionalism. This role is crucial in ensuring safe and timely transportation services while maintaining vehicle safety and security.Pay Rate: $18.00/HourStatus: Full Time, 40 Hours per WeekKey ResponsibilitiesTransport beneficiaries to and from work therapy assignmentsTransport Salvation Army personnel for official businessDeliver packages and inter-office mail as requestedPlan and execute daily route coverage efficientlyReport any pick-up problems immediately to supervisor through dispatcherVehicle ManagementEnsure safety and security of assigned vehicleConduct daily inspections of air, water, oil, and other maintenance needsPromptly report any accidents involving vehicle, personal injury, or property damageResponsible for loading and unloading during deliveriesSecure vehicle at end of dayProfessional ConductAct as a personal representative of The Salvation ArmyEnsure all passengers are treated courteouslyMaintain a neat appearance including clean clothing, clean shaven, neatly trimmed hairFollow proper dress code with tucked shirt and appropriate head gearSupport the mission of The Salvation ArmyQualificationsEducation & ExperienceAt least two years licensed driving experiencePassing grade on the "Coaching the Experienced Driver" self-study course (or willing to complete)Successfully completed The Salvation Army Road TestRequired LicensesValid driver's license to operate location's truck typesClear MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) reportSkills & AbilitiesAbility to read and comprehend written instructionsStrong communication skills with customers and helpersBasic math skills for calculating weight, volume, and distanceAbility to plan and organize daily routes effectivelyProficient in using two-way radio equipmentPhysical RequirementsRegularly use hands to finger, handle, or feelReach with hands and armsFrequently required to stand and walkOccasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouchMust regularly lift/move up to 50 poundsFrequently lift/move up to 100 poundsOccasionally lift/move more than 100 poundsSpecific vision abilities: close, distance, peripheral, depth perceptionMust wear back guard when doing substantial lifting or movingWork EnvironmentTruck and warehouse environmentsExposure to outdoor temperature and humidity variationsOperation of two-way radio equipmentWhat We OfferOpportunity to make a positive impact in your communityProfessional development opportunitiesSupportive work environmentComprehensive benefits packageThe Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.
