Are you an experienced Financial Controller ready for the next step in your career? Thrasher Partners is looking for a Regional Controller who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial activities of our western region, specifically focusing on our Arizona and California locations. This person will work closely with our executive team as well as local operators to provide strategic financial guidance. This role requires a hands-on approach and excellent leadership skills.
Location: We will only consider candidates currently living in or willing to relocate to the Pheonix, AZ area. This position will require travel to various Thrasher Partner locations or to headquarters in Omaha, NE. Travel is expected to be about 25%.
As a Regional Controller, you will be responsible for:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
Develop and implement financial strategies to support each Thrasher Partner location’s business objectives.
Provide accurate and timely financial analysis, forecasts, and reports to support decisions.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Prepare budgets for each partner location, collaborating with leadership and local operators.
Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing recommendations for improvement.
Financial Reporting:
Determine cadence and perform balance sheet reviews.
Prepare the following monthly reports: monthly financial reporting package, covenants, organic growth and wage reconciliation.
Prepare documents for third parties (e.g., audit, NE Tax Advantage, R&D Tax Credit, tax return, benefit plan audit).
Payroll:
Keep up to date on payroll regulations and best practices, and work with HR to understand employee changes that affect payroll.
Review payroll and import into accounting system.
Month End Close:
Manage company credit cards in Divvy and ensure all payments are made, and transactions are updated to the general ledger.
Ensure all vendors are paid on time and 1099s are completed and mail timely.
Ensure A/R invoices are done timely and accurately.
Ensure software billing is done.
Prepare monthly reports, including cash flows, partner rankings, and cost save reporting.
Respond to all US census reports.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, select, onboard, and train new employees.
Provide expectations and hold employees accountable to meeting these expectations.
Manage performance, conduct performance reviews, and partner with HR on other performance decisions.
Provide opportunities for growth and development.
Education and Experience:
BA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
CPA certification preferred.
5-7 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles.
Strong knowledge of GAAP reporting standards and regulations.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
