ELECTRIC TECHNICIAN A
TITLE: Electric Technician APOSITION OBJECTIVE:This position will be under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, ensures the correct operation, repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules of the office, manufacturing, and distribution facilities. This position is for a highly skilled and experienced technician that will perform tasks to install, maintain and/or repair plant production machinery such as plastic resin handling systems, co-extrusion cast film lines, pallet wrapping, thermoforming machines, and paper bag converting equipment.QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredIndustrial maintenance degree or similar from a state certified technical school or community college is required. Completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship can be substitutedAdvanced knowledge of industrial electrical components - relays, timers, contactors, proximity switches, etc.Must be able to read multimeters and amp meters.A background in industrial electronics and troubleshooting is requiredExperience with PLC controls and variable speed drives is preferredBasic computer knowledgeMust have good communication skillsProficiency with PLC controls and variable speed drives is preferredMust be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and evenings as needed.Also, must be able to work on-call as neededMust be able to read electrical schematicsThe ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plusCan work with limited supervision (i.e. night shift)Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessaryCapable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactionsJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:All skills, knowledge and job duties of Electrical Technician B.Troubleshoot and repair A/C, D/C motors, drives and inverters.Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.Troubleshoot and repair fire panels and alarm systems.Correctly identify and work on any electrical cabinet in the plant.Identify and safely work on any switchgear in the plant.Replace non-programmable devices such as relays, contactors, timers, PLC i/o cards.Use soldering for repairs as neededCheck and change motor rotation if needed.Replace plant lighting and ballasts.Check and replace fuses.Troubleshoot electrical circuits.Assists maintenance technician in the lubrication and repair of mechanical equipmentMaintain all equipment in good running orderEnsure that job site is clean and free of hazardsMaintains good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipmentInteracts and communicates with production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when neededMaintains professional certifications and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to dateOperates all maintenance equipment safely, follows LOTO procedures at all times.WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:Manufacturing EnvironmentAbility to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)Loud noise
