Dental AssistantReports to: Dental Assistant Coordinator131-72 40th Road, Queens, New York, 11354, United StatesResponsibilities:Assist the dentist, as well as the hygienists, receptionists, dental manager, and other members of the Dental staffTeach basic routine oral health education to our patients, and to community groupsAct as a chair-side assistant to the dentist utilizing accepted four-handed dental techniquesUse accepted dental radiographic techniques and produces diagnostic radiographsPerform basic dental laboratory proceduresPerform accepted dental sterilization techniquesAssist receptionistsMaintain the inventory of supplies and equipment and consult with the dental staff regarding ordering, distribution and storageAssist in preparing and maintaining dental recordsAssist in teaching new employees assigned dutiesAssist in oral health education activities at community agenciesPerform other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalencyOne year of experience as dental assistant requiredDental Assistant Certification preferredBasic CPR (BCLS) Certificate required (Health Center will provide if needed)Medical or Dental Assistant training preferredBilingual in English/Chinese or English/Spanish requiredCompensation and Benefits (Full-Time):Salary: $22 - $25 per hourMedical insuranceEmployer-paid dental, vision, disability and life insurance403(b) retirement savings planFlexible spending accounts for transit, parking, health and dependent carePaid time off (28 days for the first year of employment)Employee Assistance ProgramEmployee Discount ProgramsTuition reimbursement for eligible employeesThe Health Center is qualified for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program
