SHIFT TIME: 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm LOCATION: Thomas Jefferson High SchoolAnother custodial position in the district will be available also. Shift time and location to be determined.$20.47 per hour for first 90 working days then increase to $20.72 after probationary periodSchool sponsored medical, dental and vision benefits after 90 calendar daysOne week of paid vacation after one yearJob DescriptionPOSITION TITLE: CustodianQualifications High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred One year of custodial experience, preferred Able to understand and perform oral and written instructions Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently and/or as part of a team Able to use cleaning materials and equipment to perform modern cleaning techniques Knowledge of applicable safety rules, practices, and proceduresREPORTS TO: Facilities Director or Manager/Building PrincipalACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: The custodian shall perform custodial duties which include general cleaning and janitorial duties and assist in the care of equipment, furniture, andbuildings. This work will support the district in providing a safe and clean environment for the students, staff, and community. All duties will be done in a professional manner, especiallyaround children and the community.Performance Accountabilities Models and exemplifies the district's core values Dust mops, wet mops, and/or vacuums all floors and corridors in assigned areas. Cleans, sanitizes, and dusts walls, furniture, ledges, countertops, windowsills, and other areas as identified by the supervisor. Removes marks from walls, floors, doors, desks, etc. Cleans glass in doors, as assigned. Cleans and sanitizes sinks, toilets, urinals, mirror, and floors and stocks supplies in restrooms in assigned areas. Maintains and requests supplies and equipment used to complete assigned tasks and reports any malfunctions to the facilities manager. Empties and cleans wastebaskets and removes trash from the building. Maintains building security by securing locks on doors and windows and corrects or reports safety hazards. Sets up, takes down, arranges tables and chairs, and related equipment, and welcomes and directs visitors, as needed. Perform outdoor duties as needed. Cleans up spills (including bodily) in safe and appropriate manner and responds to special requests for custodial services from staff members, as needed. Work professionally and collaboratively with co-workers, students, staff, faculty, administration, and community members. Interacts in a courteous manner with students, staff, parents, and community and resolves conflicts in a professional manner. Attend meetings and/or in-service as deemed necessary by the Director of Facilities.
