EPC Estimator (Solar/BESS)

Job Description OverviewThe EPC Estimator, as part of the Renewables Preconstruction Team, will be responsible for managing, planning, coordinating, and controlling the estimating process for all assigned projects efficiently, while delivering on promises to customers and colleagues. We Build Better.Essential FunctionsOriginate, plan, coordinate, and control all assigned estimates to maximize time while delivering on promises to customers and co-workersManage the activities of each estimate for quality and accuracy of work: including performing quantity take-offs, scheduling tasks, and achieving goals and standardsAnalyze regional labor rates and per diems to be used in the estimateRequest, obtain and review quotations from vendor and subcontractors for materials and performance tasks not being self-performedAbility to travel to project sites to observe construction sequence, means and methods, site conditions and perform time studiesAssist in the preparation of bid proposals for an RFPAssist with bids, documents and reports in an accurate, complete and professional mannerSurvey job sites as needed for scope of work and to determine the most cost effective and efficient plan possibleEnsure all estimates and RFP’s are fulfilled to the customer’s or CSI’s conditions for satisfactionMaintain technical knowledge and building codes by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publicationsEstablish and maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with clients, vendors, subcontractors and colleaguesPromote the Company image through exercising sound and ethical business practices as they relate to clients, subcontractors, suppliers, coworkers and the publicWork with Preconstruction to determine the general expenses, labor rates, and other costs associated with each projectAnalyze and interpret construction drawings, specifications and other bid documentsPerform accurate take-offs for a diverse range of EPC solar and BESS construction projectsUnderstand Scope of Work to bid as well as resolving discrepancies by collecting and analyzing informationConfer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimatesPrepare pre-bid RFI’s and track and document responsesContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededAttend meetings/interviews with clients, pre and post bidMentor estimators to assist in their development and professional growthResponsible for the accuracy and timeliness of estimating tasks performed by estimators as well as selfAbility to perform conceptual solar and BESS EPC estimatesProvide bid review details to the Director of Preconstruction, prior to sending to clientUpon award of a project, be able to accurately turnover all relevant documents to the Project Management TeamAbility to review a contract in detail to confirm scope and price are in line with the estimate’s proposalThe preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith.
