ENRICHMENT SPECIALIST: Storytelling, Worldbuilding & GamingWHO WE ARETHE PALADINS LEAGUE is a gathering place and social club for young tabletop gamers, their families and our community. Together.We’re particularly passionate about helping creatively-oriented young people build a strong sense of community while developing the talents, social skills and self-confidence of all of our members.OUR MISSIONTo serve as a beacon of collective joy and imagination in an increasingly detached, programmed and disconnected world. THE ROLEOur Enrichment Specialist will play a key role in designing, leading and supporting enrichment activities for kids from 4th through 8th grade. We seek to develop a best-in-class program focused on storytelling, world-building and tabletop games. It is incredibly important to us that we help creatively-oriented children develop a strong sense of teamwork, good sportsmanship and resilience outside of sports.THE IDEAL CANDIDATEHas completed or is pursuing an educational degree/licenseHas teaching, mentoring and/or coaching experience (and a passion for) supporting kids in middle schoolLoves tabletop games and high fantasyHas experience playing role-playing games like D&D and/or experience writing or illustrating fantastical storiesIs fun-loving and engaging- while also being extremely well-organized and accountableKEY RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate on planning and facilitating engaging creative workshops in areas such as storytelling, game development, worldbuilding, or maker-based projects that are related to the above.Collaborate with other educators and specialists to integrate enrichment themes with our goals of nurturing community, social skills, teamwork and good sportsmanship.Create a supportive environment that encourages imagination, experimentation, curiosity, and FUN.Maintain a safe and respectful culture that makes all parents and kids feel excited, delighted and at home at The Paladins League.Help to develop a simple system to track student participation and growth; provide feedback to students and families when appropriateManage materials, supplies, and classroom setup/cleanupAttend staff meetings, planning sessions, and training as neededServe as a positive mentor and role model for young guestsQUALIFICATIONSA passion for supporting middle-schoolers and teensA passion for nurturing imagination, creativity and collective joy through storytelling and games.A background or training in education, youth programming and curriculum developmentExperience leading creative projects with students in group settingsExcellent communication and classroom management skillsA warm, collaborative and adaptive mindset Ability to build rapport with a diverse group of studentsCPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)Must pass a background check
