School Counselor (Grades K-5) NeededLocation: Hinesburg Community SchoolHinesburg Community School (HCS) is seeking a dynamic educator to join our school community as a 1.0 FTE School Counselor starting FY27. Located in Chittenden County, HCS is a vibrant learning community of dedicated, committed faculty and staff serving students in pre-K through eighth grade. The successful candidate should possess the knowledge, abilities, skills, and attitude necessary to plan, organize, implement and evaluate a comprehensive, results-based school counseling program that aligns with the ASCA National Model.Preferred qualifications for this full-time position include a master's degree, a Vermont Professional Educator's license and endorsement as a Pre-K-12 school counselor.The ideal candidate will also:Have a whole child focus, with attention to students' academic, social and emotional growthLead with a growth mindset, and be a model of continuous learningDemonstrate experience developing relationships of trust with students, their families, and the communityHave leadership experience in Educational Support Teams (EST) and a deep understanding of MTSSHave experience nurturing a positive school-wide climate, including the implementation of proactive, preventative measures that promote collective social/emotional learningHave an understanding of PBIS and the ability to support its implementation across all tiersHave leadership experience with student and family transition procedures, including supporting incoming kindergarteners or transfer studentsPossess high-level communication and collaboration skillsHave the ability to recognize and support individuals in their pursuit to improve mental healthHave successful experience delivering classroom-based instruction to primary-aged studentsDemonstrate experience designing, creating, and facilitating support groups and programming tailored to responsively meet the needs of small groups of studentsIf you are a dynamic, energetic, collegial and innovative individual, we would love to talk with you about joining the Hinesburg Community School!If interested, please apply via SchoolSpring to Principal, Tim Trevithick and Assistant Principal, Alexis Kelly.
