In this role you will lead and manage a team of permitting professionals (Levels I and II) and are accountable for team performance, workload management, and overall program delivery. Provides leadership, operational excellence, and strategic oversight while serving as the escalation point for complex permitting challenges and key client relationships.ResponsibilitiesOversee project execution to ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness.Lead, manage, and mentor a team of permitting specialists and ensure team consistently executes project assignments and meets deadlines across the portfolio.Assign, prioritize, and balance workload across team members.Establish performance expectations, deadlines, and quality standards; Achieve strong client satisfaction (minimal escalations, positive feedback).Maintain and improve quality standards (low rework/ agency resubmittals)Serve as escalation point for complex permitting issues and agency challenges.Maintain and grow key client relationships at a strategic level.Develop and improve permitting processes, workflows, and standards with a goal of demonstrating continuous improvement in efficiency and turnaround times.Provide support for regulatory compliance program tasks, reporting, and major client deliverables.Monitor team performance and provide coaching, feedback, and development in collaboration with Permit Services Supervisor.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsWe're looking for talented professionals who are eager to help lead and grow a team, while contributing to high-quality, meaningful work. The following qualifications will help you succeed in this role:High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study preferred.6-8+ years of relevant experience in permitting, compliance, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Extensive experience in architecture, planning, real estate, engineering, construction, government, or related field preferred.Retail petroleum / UST / air quality permitting experience (strong plus)Demonstrates effective utilization and billable performanceProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Strong project and time management skills (client-facing).Work LocationThis can be a hybrid position based out of any Core States Group offices or a remote position.Company OverviewCore States Group designs, builds, and manages programs and projects across North America and has been recognized on top lists throughout the architecture, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.
