Part Time Bookkeeper

A family-owned real estate ownership and management company seeking a Part-Time Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities.Company: Stable, long-established family business with a small, collaborative team; great team and culture!Hours/Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week; flexible within Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; mornings are preferred. Schedule can be split across the whole week or 3- longer days/week.Job Type: Part-time; contractLocation Requirements: On-site at West Newton, MA officeRate: $30–$35 per hour, commensurate with experienceJob Description: This is a hands-on, on-site role supporting day-to-day financial operations, including processing accounts payable, managing deposits, and maintaining accurate QuickBooks records across multiple LLCs. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the principal and take ownership of the bookkeeping function as responsibilities transition. This role is suited for an experienced professional who values precision, thrives in a structured environment, and seeks consistent part-time work.Responsibilities:Process accounts payable across 13+ LLCs, ensuring each vendor payment is routed to the correct property entity and bank accountManage and post daily rental deposits, including logging checks, entering deposits in QuickBooks, and completing bank drop-offsMaintain up-to-date QuickBooks records, including invoice entry, payment coding, and transaction reconciliation by property/entityAllocate expenses to the correct LLC and property accountPrepare and track vendor payments; coordinate with the principal on timing and approvalOrganize and maintain physical and digital records for invoices, receipts, and bank statementsSupport periodic bank reconciliations and respond to discrepancies or allocation questionsCommunicate with the operations lead and front-office team on outstanding itemsQualifications:3+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in real estate, property management, or a multi-entity environmentProficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online)Comfort with analog and traditional workflows, including physical rent rolls, paper checks, and manual deposit proceduresExceptional attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervisionDiscretion, trustworthiness, and professional integrityReliable and consistent on-site availability within flexible business hoursExperience bookkeeping for multiple LLCs, LLPs, or property entities simultaneously, preferredAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (not required but a plus)FlexProfessionals respects and seeks to empower each individual and support the diverse cultures, perspectives, skills, and experiences of its candidate network.
