This is a high-impact leadership role bridging engineering, production, and client stakeholders to deliver innovative, compliant, and production-ready ship designs.Benefits And CompensationCompetitive base salary (commensurate with experience)Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysCareer advancement opportunities within a growing shipbuilding organizationExposure to high-profile commercial and government vessel programsProfessional development and training supportStable, long-term project pipelineCollaborative, team-oriented engineering environmentRequirements & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or related engineering field5–10+ years of ship design or shipyard engineering experienceProven leadership experience managing engineering teams or projectsStrong working knowledge across naval architecture, structures, propulsion, auxiliaries, electrical, and mission systemsProficiency in AutoCAD and ShipConstructorExperience with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic document management systems (EDMS)Strong understanding of classification society rules (ABS, DNV) and regulatory frameworks (SOLAS, USCG, etc.)Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and technical priorities simultaneouslyMust HavesLead full lifecycle development of General Arrangements, midship sections, and production-level design packagesOwn technical risk identification and communicate mitigation strategies to senior leadershipDrive integration between structural, mechanical, electrical, and mission systems within vessel designsOversee and track engineering deliverables with strict adherence to production schedulesFacilitate design reviews, including client-facing technical presentations and iterative feedback incorporationResolve real-time design conflicts during vessel construction in collaboration with production teamsDevelop and implement engineering QC processes and internal design standardsMentor and develop engineering staff, including drafters and junior engineersSupport technical proposal development, including concept design input for new business opportunitiesPreferred Background & SkillsExperience designing U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, or other government vesselsPrior experience leading multi-disciplinary marine engineering teamsFamiliarity with shipyard production workflows and build strategiesExperience with 3D modeling and digital shipbuilding environmentsStrong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skillsBackground in both new construction and vessel repair/conversion projectsAbility to influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced shipyard environmentJOB ID: 175008 #postRob McDermottTo Apply for this Job Click Here, $120,000 - $160,000,
