We are a collaborative, fast-paced team focused on quality, accountability, and growth.Position SummaryThe Accounting & Compliance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the winery's day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring full compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role manages financial processes across multiple revenue streams, supports leadership with reporting and analysis, and supervises administrative support staff.This is a critical role that requires strong attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to manage both financial operations and compliance responsibilities in a complex, fast-paced environment.Accounting & Financial OversightOversee and maintain accurate financial records across all business operationsManage accounts payable and accounts receivable processesReconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and POS systems across locationsOversee month-end and year-end close processesPrepare and present financial reports to leadershipMonitor cash flow, expenses, and financial accuracyCompliance & Regulatory ManagementEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to winery operationsOversee and/or prepare required filings, including:Sales taxExcise taxIndustry-specific reporting (TTB, WSLCB, etc.)Maintain all business licenses, permits, and renewalsEnsure readiness for audits and regulatory inspectionsStay current on regulatory changes impacting winery operationsOperations & Revenue OversightReconcile and track revenue across tasting rooms, events, retail, and wine club programsMonitor inventory-related financials (wine production, food, retail goods)Partner with department leaders to ensure accurate reporting and cost trackingSupport event financial tracking and bonus structuresLeadership & Administrative OversightSupervise and provide direction to administrative support staffEnsure administrative processes are organized, efficient, and compliantDelegate tasks appropriately while maintaining accountability for outcomesSupport cross-functional communication between departmentsProcess Improvement & SupportIdentify opportunities to improve accounting and administrative processesAssist with budgeting and forecastingMaintain organized and audit-ready financial documentationPerform other duties as assignedQualifications3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations experience requiredPrevious experience in winery, hospitality, or multi-revenue business strongly preferredExperience with compliance, tax reporting, or regulatory filings preferredPrior leadership or supervisory experience preferredStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingExperience with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAbility to manage confidential information and work independentlyPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit and work at a computer for extended periodsOccasional lifting up to 25 lbsPre-Employment RequirementsMust be able to pass a background checkMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug screeningCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive payFull benefit package (Medical, Dental, Vision)401(k) with company matchEmployee wine & merchandise discountsSupportive, team-oriented environmentOpportunities for growth within the companyEmployee Assistance ProgramPaid time offSick leave accrual7 paid holidays
