This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Quality function. This position will report to the Quality Manager.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Works with Quality Manager to establish annual performance goals for the Quality department and ensures achievement of goals.Supervises a staff of hourly Lab Technicians working a rotating shift schedule to accomplish the above duties.Oversees all aspects of Laboratory operations that contribute to the site’s production of high-quality products and ensures that current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) are in place and followed.Initiates out-of-spec investigations where appropriate.Coordinates efforts with others in the Quality department to maintain the needed documentation required to support continued ISO 9001:2015, EFfCI, EXCiPACT and other certifications.Ensures that analytical laboratory methods are followed and that problems and questions are resolved.Ensures that all laboratory equipment and testing facilities are well maintained and in good working order.Provides training, instruction and adherence to analytical testing, safety procedures, ISO-9001:2015 standards and current good manufacturing practices(cGMP).Works to eliminate non-value-added work to increase efficiency in the Lab.Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures that pertain to lab personnel including attendance, overtime, illness, pay and vacations.Recognizes the successful efforts of employees to increase productivity, reduce costs and improve work processes.Participates in Quality, Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance of State/Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs.In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or another technical field.Knowledgeable in quality assurance systems, quality control procedures, chemical plant processes, good manufacturing practices, and ISO 9001.Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, with strong written and oral communication skills and ability read, interpret, and report data.3-5 years' experience in a quality role1-2 years' supervisory experienceThe following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:3 - 5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment or quality laboratoryExperience supervising hourly employeesExperience with Quality Risk Management and Management of Change processesExperience in leading and organizing internal ISO 9001 auditsExperience with SAP and LIMS or equivalent data management systemsThird party recruiters and agencies (“Agency”) should not contact employees of Ashland or its subsidiaries directly.
